Pitkat started the weekend with twin 14th-place finishes in the SK Modified and Late Model divisions at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) on Friday night.
On Sunday, Pitkat was battling for third place with a few laps to go in the Sunoco Modified feature at Thompson International Speedway (CT) when contact was made between him and Tommy Cravenho. Pitkat escaped the incident with minimal damage and crossed the finish line third, but he was later penalized to a 15th-place finish.
“I got wrecked in the heat race on Saturday and had to start in the back. I passed 25 cars without hitting one of them,” said Pitkat. “I got to Cravenho and passed him. Then he got under me, which was fine. Then he rode up and put me into the wall on the backstretech. Then he put me into the wall on the frontstretch. I had enough. I lifted and got underneath him, but he came down in turn two. I wasn't going to lift again for him.”
Pitkat returns to action this Thursday night in the Sunoco Modified division at Thompson.

Woody Pitkat has seven victories to his name during the 2008 season, but lately he has also faced his share of bad luck. That continued this weekend after competing three times and not finishing in the top 10 once because of various circumstances.
“This is the way that my last few months have gone,” said Pitkat after the race weekend ended on Sunday at Thompson International Speedway.
