PITKAT HAS TOUGH DAY AT THOMPSON
Has Bad Luck In Both Sunoco and Tour Mod Races

“We got spun early in the race, just four laps in, and tried to battle, battle, battle back from there,” said Pitkat. “The last couple weeks, we’ve had no luck. This is pretty frustrating.”
No sun shined on Pitkat the next night either, as his SK Modified and Late Model features at Stafford Motor Speedway were both rained out.
This coming week, Pitkat will have four chances to change his luck. He’ll race the Sunoco Modified at Thompson on Thursday night, the SK Modified and Late Model at Stafford on Friday and the #28 Tour Modified at Mansfield Motorsports Park (OH) on Saturday night.
There are sometimes where nothing seems to go right. That pretty much described this past weekend for Woody Pitkat.
On Thursday night, Pitkat climbed into his #99 Hitchcock Pool Water Sunoco Modified at Thompson International Speedway. But unlike the three occasions when he drove the car to victory lane this year at Thompson, this time his night ended with the car parked prematurely in the infield due to a mechanical problem.
“We blew the throw-out bearing out of it and the clutch was full of oil and it wouldn’t go.,” said Pitkat, who was credited with a finish of 20th.
Next up, Pitkat took his turn behind the wheel of Don King’s #29 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour entry. The field was based on points after qualifying was rained out, and Pitkat got caught in an early wreck after starting 13th. He then battled back all race long to crack the top 10 late in the going, but got wrecked with just a few laps remaining and finished 18th.
