Pitkat now looks towards the October 14th events at Thompson International Speedway (CT), where he will race in both the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event as well as the Sunoco Modified race.

“I think we will be good next week,” explained Pitkat.  “We found a good setup and chemistry at Thompson.  I think we will be alright.  We are going to do the best we can.”
“We struggled a little bit in practice,” said Pitkat.  “We talked to a few people after practice and changed our line in time trials.  It came out to work pretty good since we timed in sixth.

“I was out there pretty much riding.  We had a good car.  I let L.W. (L.W. Miller) go and just let him set the pace since he knows how to get around here without using up your tires.  The only thing I was worried about was the water temperature.  It was 240, and no matter what I did it wouldn’t come down.  The car was handling good but just didn’t have any power to hang with the guys.  I kept running hoping the guys would come back to me, but one time some big smoke came from the interior and that was it.”
Woody Pitkat and the #79 Hillbilly Racing team headed to Caraway Speedway (NC) for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150-lap event, looking for a strong run to end out the tour’s final race of the season.  Unfortunately overheating problems dropped him out of the race past the halfway point.
